If you're looking to relax and connect with nature, this is the place for you! From the amazing sunsets and private lakes to the hiking at St. Mary's Glacier, this property is stunning! Enjoy two separate living areas, each with it's own fireplace; four cozy bedrooms with hot water radiant heat; and a fabulous kitchen and eating area. You are sure to enjoy the 180 degrees of spectacular views and you may even see a family of moose or other animals sharing the property with you! If so, please remember to keep your distance! We also have hummingbirds that love to eat from the feeder on the balcony - let us know if you'd like us to have it filled so they're there for you upon Spring/Summer/Fall arrivals.
With reasonable traffic, this location is approximately one hour from downtown Denver or Highlands Ranch - is it time to get out of the city?!! The fresh air and clear, star-filled nights are waiting for you! We also have many people stay with us to attend concerts at Red Rocks or to ski Loveland, Breckenridge, Keystone, A-Basin and Winter Park. However, be careful of the map - VRBO marks the distance as the crow flies, not with miles or drive time. Girls or Guys Getaways/Retreats, family reunions, hiking, paddle boarding, fishing - there is so much to do and see in Colorado! If you're coming to hike St. Mary's Glacier (which we definitely recommend), note that our property allows access without paying the $20 trailhead parking fee. Just let us know so we can point you in the right direction! The Fall colors are usually amazing! We love the winter snowfalls too - but that's not for everyone. The hot springs, white water rafting and train rides are also fun things to do in the area! Just check the map to make sure you're comfortable with the drive times and know that you'll need a 4-wheel drive in the winter!
Please remember you are at 10,500 feet above sea level - hydration and sun screen are very important! Also, Idaho Springs is 10 miles and 15-20 minutes away (without traffic or snow), so please plan accordingly with your grocery shopping and other necessities.
