Welcome to beautiful Norris Lake!
This great little cottage is floating on the lake right outside of Whitman Hollow Marina. You have the ability to jump (or slide) right in the water from the deck. You cannot get to this house by land so you will have to have a boat to get there. Whitman Hollow does boat rentals so call them in advance for pricing if you need one. You can park at the marina for free. If you have a boat the launch ramp is right around the corner from the marina and is also free.
The space
This is truly a special way to enjoy the lake. It is not like staying at a lake house where you have to walk up a million stairs. Once you pull your boat up to the cottage, you step right on to the deck and begin enjoying your visit. It is located in a neighborhood of other floating homes but sits right next to a mountain of trees. So, for views, you have the best of both worlds, lake and woods.
This house has two bedrooms, one master with a queen bed and another room with bunk beds, a twin on the top and double on the bottom. There is also a sleeper sofa in the living room with a pull-out queen bed. For extra sleeping, there is a blowup, twin bed located in the master under the nightstand. All extra blankets and pillows will also be in the master on the top shelf.
The living room and kitchen space is very simple. There is a full refrigerator, microwave and toaster oven. There is no stove/oven but there is mobile electric burners and a grill on the deck for extra cooking. Hot pans are also available to put on the grill if needed. Dishes and silverware are in the cabinets.
The bathroom has a flushing toilet, sink and shower with shampoo, conditioner, soap and towels provided. There will also be extra marine toilet paper under the cabinet.
The cottage has full electricity coming from the marina. There are fans throughout the whole place but there is also an A/C and heating unit in the living room. It is controlled by the panel beside the bathroom. There are TV's in each bedroom and living room with DVD players included. Under the TV is a large selection of DVD's for you to choose from.
The covered deck has a large table with six chairs and a small, high top table with two chairs. There are also two lounge chairs for you to pull out and enjoy some sun. A slide is also attached to the deck. The hose hooks up to the tube on the slide so it is easier to go down. There are two jet ski slips on the side as well. The grill is also out there with an extra propane tank if the one that is attached runs out. There is a great stereo system located under the TV that is Bluetooth so you can connect your music. Speakers are located in the living room and outside on the deck. The bin next to the house will have life jackets for your safety.
