Welcome to our family-friendly Sauerland apartment
The apartment is in Kirchhundem in the beautiful Sauerland. The municipality of Kirchhundem has approximately 11,000 inhabitants and Kirchhundem itself - the main town has around 2,000 inhabitants. The municipality belongs to the district of Olpe.
We are private landlords and also live in the house on the two upper floors. The house entrance with porch (anteroom) and staircase is shared.
We offer the entire ground floor as a holiday apartment and would like to describe it briefly:
The apartment has a good 75 square meters and is divided as follows:
You enter the apartment "Sauerland" through your own floor door and first come into a small hallway from which all other rooms are centrally accessed.
In this hall there is a cozy pellet stove that can heat the entire apartment in winter. In addition, we also have modern, digitally controlled electric radiators for the transition periods or when it should be cool in the evening in summer. To the left of the central hallway is a very large living and dining room with approx. 34 square meters, which you can enter through two doors. In the left half there is a large living area (U-shaped sofa) with a coffee table, smart TV and sound system (Alexa with 50 million songs, WiFi 50 Mbit / s). The sofa invites you to relax after an active day, perhaps with a nice glass of wine or a beer. It can also be used as an additional sleeping space (pull-out bed function). In the right half there is a large dining table with 4 chairs, a glass cupboard and for the very small ones a game table with duplo stones, etc.
From this right side you can also reach your own large terrace through a balcony door. There is a seating set with a glass table and four chairs. A smoker grill is also included.
Go straight out of the small hallway and come into a small bedroom. There is a shelf with toys, books and a bed 200 x 90 cm. For example, this room is suitable for a child or another person who would like to have their own bedroom.
From the hall on the right there are two more doors. One leads into the kitchen, the other into the larger bedroom. From there you can continue to the bathroom.
The bedroom has a large double bed 200 x 180, a chest of drawers, a bedside table, a wardrobe and a mirror. The complete furniture is of high quality and new, most of it was only purchased in 2019. The mattresses are from bed 1 and are said to be "the best tested" according to the manufacturer.
The bedroom also leads to the modern bathroom.
The bathroom has a floor-level shower 100x100, a large vanity and a toilet. Drawers under the washstand offer space for your cosmetic items. Another closet contains towels etc. Of course there is also a hair dryer.
A second toilet with additional urinal and small sink is also part of the apartment and is separate in front of your floor door in the stairwell.
You will find everything you need in the kitchen. A fridge and freezer and an oven, as well as a microwave on one side and on the opposite side a kitchenette with dishwasher and a modern induction cooker, you can sit on bar stools by the window or have breakfast at a small table with two chairs. Of course, coffee machine, a Krups fully automatic coffee machine, toaster, egg cooker, dishes, etc. are included.
Security is very important to us. In the kitchen you will find a first aid kit and a fire extinguisher!
The property has over 1,000 square meters and includes a large garden. There is also a Kettler swing and slide, as well as a sandpit.
You can safely store your bicycles or pedelecs in your own basement and recharge them if necessary. The apartment has its own parking space. By the way, there is a public charging station for electric cars about 200 meters from the house ...
The house is very close to the forest. You can start your first hike right behind the house - in the land of the THOUSAND MOUNTAINS!

Who is the Sauerland apartment for?
We look forward to hikers, cyclists, explorers, small families or just nice people looking for peace and quiet who enjoy nature. The number of people depends on the desired comfort. As described, there is one bedroom with a single bed and another with a double bed. If the sofa is sufficient, 1-2 people can sleep there. So you can say 1 to 4 or a maximum of 5 people. We ourselves have two grown children and three grandchildren. We are therefore very child-friendly. We would also be happy to provide you with a high chair or a children's (travel) bed and a changing mat. We have already mentioned toys, swings, slides, sandboxes. You will receive free WiFi access (50 MB). In the village there are two bakers, a pharmacy and doctors. A large supermarket and beverage store. An inn invites you to eat and drink. The train station (Ruhr-Sieg route) is also within walking distance. In Lennestadt-Altenhundem, two kilometers away, there are numerous retailers, cinemas and pubs as well as ALDI, Netto and Lidl. Because of the possibility to spend the night in two bedrooms AND on the large couch in the living room, the FeWo Sauerland is of course also suitable for "a girls tour" or the "buddies on the Bed & Bike Tour" ....
Excursions for hikers, cyclists or by car:
From Kirchhundem you have many options to make your vacation active. Hikers can quickly get to the Rothaarsteig. Or you can explore the forests around the lookout tower with the “Hohe Bracht” or “Rhein-Weser-Turm” restaurant. There is a swimming pool in Altenhundem and Oberhundem. In winter you can go cross-country skiing directly behind the house or go to the Oberhundem ski area (9 KM) or to Winterberg (approx. 40 KM). There is also a ski lift and cross-country trails on the nearby Hohe Bracht and in Fahlenscheid. Or you drive about 10 KM to Lennestadt-Elspe and experience a unique experience at the Elspe Festival. Whether the famous Karl May Festival, concerts or other events. There is a lot to do all year round. The Biggesee invites to boat trips, the Attendorn stalactite cave offers almost 200,000 visitors a year a unique experience between stalagmites and stalactites. The SauerlandRadRing leads you on former railway lines through the heart of the Sauerland. Discover around 84 km of diverse places in the Hochsauerlandkreis (HSK), such as Finnentrop, Eslohe, Schmallenberg and Lennestadt, in a relaxed way. We ride pedelecs ourselves and can only recommend the bike ring. Mountain bikers can of course cycle through the woods directly in Kirchhundem. You could also cycle beautiful tours on the Lenneroute or experience the Bike Arena Sauerland. Other destinations are the Wildpark Panorama Park Sauerland, the Galileo Park with its pyramids and exhibitions (approx. 5 KM). The Fort Fun adventure land in Bestwig is around 45 km away.
But first you have to arrive: You can reach us: A 4 and A 45 to the Olpe exit, then the B 54/55 towards Lennestadt / Kirchhundem, the sign "Panorama Park" to the town center. On the right hand side you will see a pharmacy, a few meters further you turn right into the small side street "Am Emberg". After about 30 meters the path forks and you can already see our house with a large wooden balcony and a stone wall around the garden. Now the vacation can begin ...
