Summary: My husband and I spent a great 3-day weekend at Shelley's house in the heart of Newport. This wonderful, fully renovated house is the perfect home base for exploring historic sites and dining and shopping in town. Don't be fooled by the classic looks on the outside of the house. The pictures in the listing are accurate. A renovation to the inside of the house created an airy downstairs. The furnishings are very comfortable, and the kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans and appliances. There's a full service grocery store within a 5 minute walk. And to top it off, Shelley was helpful and easy to work with. I can't understand a recent 1-star review posted for the house. 35 prior guests gave excellent reviews and many mentioned their great dealings with Shelley. The 1-star reviewer tells of 7 people in a small house in a quiet, cozy neighborhood after midnight. I would have thought about the house rule against a 'party' and never done it.
