Beachfront traditional Hawaiian home | House in Waialua

3 Bedroom House in Waialua
Hale Kailu'u is a beachfront traditional style Hawaiian pole home located on the beautiful quiet sandy beach of Waialua, Oahu. Hale Kailu'u, literally translates as 'house where you dip or immerse yourself into the ocean' celebrates this beach house where you will be immersed in the ocean breezes and smell of the sea. This 3 bedroom, 3 full bathroom home sleeps up to seven, is decorated in traditional Hawaiian style with hardwood floors, area rugs and a mix of rattan furniture. It features an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings, wrap around windows and deck with ocean and mountain views. The floor plan offers privacy in the three separate bedroom areas. The property is situated on 0.5 acre of land, with a large grass yard and established typical island plants including numerous mature plumeria trees.
The sandy beach in front of the property is in a relatively protected ocean area allowing for swimming and snorkeling with large sea turtles. There is also ample opportunity to walk along the long beach front shoreline. There is a hot water outdoor shower for rinsing after beach activities. Oahu's highest mountain peak, Mt. Ka'ala, is seen in the Waianae range from the rear deck and two bedrooms.
Waialua is located on the quiet part of the North Shore of Oahu, though is close to popular historic Haleiwa town, and only 12 miles from world famous Sunset Beach and Bonzai Pipeline. Haleiwa Bay is a popular spot for those learning or wishing to practice surfing as well as stand up paddle boarding. These activities are seasonal and ocean swell (waves) dependent. Adjacent Alii beach park has an easily accessible larger swell during surf season, which at times can be terrifying (the first jewel of the Triple Crown is contested here in November when the surf is up), but other times friendly enough to be surfed by local youngsters improving their skills. Stand up paddle boarding can also done off the house on mornings when water is smooth and wind is calm. Boards are not provided at the house, but can be rented in Haleiwa. Rental from Surf and Sea can also provide device to carry the board on your car!
Fishing and sailing charters are available, boat diving, as well as popular shark watching and swim with sharks cage tours from Haleiwa Harbor. Haleiwa also boasts a variety of dining choices, though mostly casual, and many fit for "foodies". It is also a popular area for shopping, although with a predominantly surfing lifestyle theme.
To comply with new Oahu regulations for short term rentals, Hale Kailu'u is offered in month long reserved blocks. Please make inquiry to owner, stating number of travelers including ages of minors, dates of desired occupancy and any other questions you might have, about the availability for your planned holiday. The Christmas/New Years holiday period is offered only as a minimum 2 week rental.
