THIS IS IT! Your adventure awaits in the Georgia mountains at the BearLUX Cabin Lodge near Historic Downtown Blue Ridge! While here, enjoy space for 10+ guests, with convertible bed space for economy groups of up to 16. Our wooded cabin features an open-air hot tub, Swedish dry sauna, outdoor fire pit, mini-gym, satellite/cable TV, pool table, foosball, classic books and games. Come park your oversized RV in our wrap-around driveway, take a long shower with our tankless heater system, and get ready to relax.
ADD-ON SERVICES:
- We do offer early check-in and late check-out! It is subject to availability, so if you want or need extra time to enjoy the cabin, and would like to lock-in a stay extension, we would be happy to schedule that for you at our standard rental rate of $75/hr. Just ask us here. Otherwise, we'll send a note the day before you arrive or just before you leave with last-minute availability options for arriving early or departing late.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO:
- AMENITIES: Most questions about how to use our amenities can be answered by the instructions inside the cabin. Read the signs to get answers if you'd rather not contact us! We've tried to make them entertaining. :)
- BEDS: The property is optimized for 10 guests, with convertible bed space for an additional 6 guests. Economy groups larger than 10 people are advised to double-check sleeping arrangements to ensure everyone can enjoy a comfortable stay.
- BABIES: If you are traveling with children. We will have at least one pack-n-play portable crib available for you on the property when you arrive.
- BUGS and NATURE: Wooded mountain land is home to many critters! Some of our neighbors include: bears, mice, bees, ants, chiggers, spiders, southern devil scorpions (shy, non-lethal, similar to spiders), and roaches---just to name a few! While our cabin is regularly treated by professionals to keep our friends outside, please expect the occasional stray to find their way in. The woods are, after all, their home--we are just visitors here. Keeping doors shut, wearing deet-based insect repellants, and keeping rooms clean will help keep them at bay.
- GAS for GRILL: The cost of propane gas for the grill is included with your stay! Guests should plan to make a short trip to Walmart or Home Depot to exchange the tank, if necessary. Any one-time exchanges will be 100% reimbursed.
- INTERNET: Our basic internet is perfect for work tasks and light video conference calls on a single device. You can even use it to stream to one of the TVs in the house. However, adding multiple devices will slow things down a lot (faster internet service is not available in our neighborhood, but we are working on it!). We recommend using the satellite TV for your entertainment, and using your phone’s wireless data plan to connect online, where possible.
- MAINTENANCE CALLS: We'll do our best not to disturb you. If maintenance is needed during your stay, we will always attempt to communicate with you first in non-emergency situations.
- PETS: We want to make sure all our guests are comfortable, including our furry ones. Please remember to add your pet to your headcount so our cleaning team can properly prepare. Our pet fee will cover basic cleaning for up to two dogs, but will not cover fur from excessive shedding, damage from teeth or claws, or stains/smells from messes. These issues may incur separate charges, if found. Also, for your own pet's safety, please do not bring them if they are aggressive or nervous around humans or other animals. Our property is unfenced, and most of the neighbors have (very friendly) dogs. Fannin County laws allow residents to protect themselves and their animals with force if attacked, and we want to ensure that everyone is safe and comfortable!
- POWER OUTAGES: Power outages in the mountains are not uncommon (especially during rain or high winds). Sadly, we don't have much control here, but power outages usually resolve within a day (typically only a few hours). Since your safety is our priority, we do give our guests the option to cancel their stay for a full refund after 5 hours with no power, if they elect to do so. But if you want our opinion, few things are more magical than time spent in the mountains with no internet or electric lights! Please note that our well system also requires power, so power outages do mean water will not run. We will always compensate drinking water purchased during outages!
- SAUNA: Our Swedish Dry Sauna is a great health amenity, but it is delicate. Please do NOT pour water on the stones, there are heating coils beneath the stones that will burn out or deactivate the system, if wet. We also recommend not setting the temperature above 175 degrees for your safety and to prevent overheating.
- SUPPLIES and FIREWOOD: The home comes with starter quantities of almost everything (except firewood)! Please visit the nearby Dollar General or Walmart
SAFETY CHECK-OUT PROCEDURE:
Our guests are never expected to clean the cabin--that's what the cleaning fee is for. We do, however, ask our guests to put all their garbage into the provided garbage bags (including recyclables) and wash/return any used dishes before checking out. This helps us to avoid leaving behind food smells that attract pests or potentially dangerous wildlife.
Beyond that, guests are only asked to turn things off and make sure fires are out, etc. before departing. A short list of these safety tasks will be sent at the end of your stay.
AVOID FINES:
We have 3 no-exception fines for the property:
- Stained bedspreads will receive a $50 charge to replace.
- Putting any unbagged garbage (including cans and cardboard) into the large outdoor cans will result in a $50 fine. Unbagged trash in the woods is a safety issue as well as an expensive problem for our trash valet.
- Eating or leaving foreign substances in the hot tub will result in a $100 fine.
All other damages, stains, or extra cleaning are handled on a case-by-case basis and can result in a fine. Cleaning fees only cover standard makeready costs--not deep cleans or excessive messes.
Fines are very rare, but they do happen when guests don't read the house rules or choose to leave behind large messes. Please be respectful and take the time to read our messages to you!
