Summary: Our family visited Lexington to celebrate the graduation of our son from VMI. The restored Beechenbrook Chapel was the perfect place for my wife and I to stay and to host two other family friends. The restoration was top notch; the story of which is provided in a pamphlet at the house. The roof, the walls, the flooring, the appliances were excellent. The built in sounds system was excellent. Wifi was a bit weak but adequate for all of our needs, This is only one bedroom with two loft beds with only one bathroom - so plan accordingly. The outdoor patio is only accessible through the bedroom but is quite nice, there is also a nice flat "patio" type space adjacent to the front entrance. As noted by others, the property is on the slope of a hill and there will be a lot of stairs in use but I doubt you will find a better place in Lexington to have as a "home base" for college events like alumni/parent weekends or graduation. We walked to everything and did not have to deal with VMI parking or traffic. The host was VERY responsive to our questions and accommodating a few special requests. One of our best VRBO experiences.
