Summary: The location of this apartment is great. It’s very close to metro and lots of restaurants. We felt safe walking at night and loved how close the apartment was to many great attractions. The downfall of being in such a great location is the crowds and outside noise. Luckily the weather was cool during our three-week stay so keeping the windows closed at night kept the street noise down. I wouldn’t want to stay here during the hot months as there is no air conditioning and opening the windows would prove noisy as many happy people walk by the apartment talking loud and laughing. We are fastidious people and the cleanliness wasn’t up to our standards, The bed and couch were comfortable enough, but the rest of the furniture was old and tired looking and not comfortable to sit on. In particular, the metal dining chairs with their thin cushions were totally uncomfortable. In general, the apartment is somewhat dark and dingy looking, and in need of a facelift.The kitchen is tiny. The plastic drip coffee maker takes a long time to make a barely-hot pot of coffee. The toaster doesn’t pop the toast up so I burned my fingers more than once trying to get my toast out. There is ample dinnerware and cookware as well as wine glasses, but only one small water glass.Overall, we enjoyed our stay due to the location. It’s too small for more than two people, and we felt like it was a bit overpriced given the lack of attention to detail. The owner was nice.
