The Neighborhood:
Downtown Santa Monica is one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in Santa Monica, largely because it’s home to the Third Street Promenade and Santa Monica Place, two of the largest shopping areas in Santa Monica. The weekend finds the Third Street Promenade bustling with foot traffic of both locals and travelers. However, while Downtown Santa Monica is home to the highest concentration of shops, restaurants, and hotels in town, it also gives off a local vibe with its twice-weekly farmers market on Wednesday and Saturday mornings and lively street performers.

The palm tree-lined avenue and views overlooking the Pacific Ocean make the Santa Monica Pier area and Ocean Avenue one of the most iconic locations in Santa Monica. Unique hotels, such as The Georgian and The Shore, dot Ocean Avenue while open-air restaurants and bars, such as Blue Plate Oysterette and The Bungalow, line the avenue. Just down from Ocean Avenue is perhaps Santa Monica’s most famous attraction, the Santa Monica Pier. This attraction dates back to 1909, and features a solar-paneled Ferris wheel, amusement park, aquarium, and live concerts and movies during the summer months.
Getting Around:
The City of Santa Monica has selected Bird, Jump, Lime, and Lyft as the four operators to participate in the city's Shared Mobility Pilot Program, which kicked off in September 2018 and will run through December 2019. The four companies offer app-driven electric scooters, and Lyft and Jump also offer electric bikes available throughout the city.
Pedestrians can also hail the Santa Monica Circuit (formerly Free Ride), golf cart–style cabs that offer a complimentary lift anywhere in their service area between Wilshire Boulevard and Marine Street, and from the ocean to Fifth Street. Carts operate from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m with later hours on weekends. Many local hotels also offer car service around town.
The Metro Expo Line makes travel even easier, connecting Santa Monica by light rail to Downtown Los Angeles in under 50 minutes. With three stations located throughout Santa Monica - from the downtown neighborhood to Mid-City - the Metro Expo Line is a great way to travel within the destination. Additionally, with the ability to connect to Pasadena, San Fernando Valley, South Bay, Long Beach and dozens of points in between, visitors can travel to and from Santa Monica easily.

"Please be aware that downtown Santa Monica has homelessness. The building is located near Salvation Army Center. Meals are being served somedays during the week and the recipients aggregate near our building. We are not issuing cancelations / refunds for the above-mentioned issue".
We do not allow smoking; breaking this rule will incur a $500 fine. Parties or excessive noise are not allowed in our locations. If a location is left in an exceptionally messy state, we will charge $80 for every extra hour of cleaning required.
