Steenwijk is located in the head of Overijssel. On the wet westside this picturesque town borders on the water region of Giethoorn and the Weerribben.
On the dry eastside you will find the nature areas De Woldberg and De Eese. In this area of 1500 ha. you will see forests, heaths, fields, charming farmhouses and a real small castle. You will find two cottages in this fabulous region: De Arendshorst and De Valkenhorst.
De Valkenhorst is a very comfortable bungalow with 5 bedrooms that sleep 3 persons each. There is a large bathroom with bath, shower, wash basin and toilet and a second bathroom with shower and wash basin. De Valkenhorst is spacious and offers a large hall and a spacious living room. There is also a 25m veranda. This cottage also offers a sunny and sheltered terrace. This house is ideal for family celebrations. This house is often rented in combination with the six-person bungalow located between "De Arendshorst" and "De Valkenhorst".
For groups with a different composition than family, a deposit of 1000 euros is requested.
For reasons of tranquillity, this holiday home will not be rented to groups of youngsters

Summary: We waren met verschillende gezinnen samen in dit huis. Dus volwassenen, tieners, kinderen en een baby. Het is een fijn huisje met veel kamers. De kinderen vonden de bedstede fantastisch. De bedden lagen best wel goed. De indeling van de ruimte was ook heel goed omdat de keuken toch wat gescheiden is van de woonkamer. Qua keuken inrichting zat er echt alles op en aan wat wij nodig hadden. Qua huisje is er een mindere kamer. Deze heeft geen ramen het hemelbed staat er denk ik om dat goed te maken. Het huisje staat achteraan het park en tussen de bomen. Dus ondanks dat je buren hebt heb je dat nagenoeg niet in de gaten. Buiten was er een fijn terras waar we savonds nog marshmallows hebben geroosterd in de buiten openhaard. Voor de aller kleinste was er een leuke binnen speeltuin. De gewone speeltuin met een air trampoline is ook leuk. Erg leuk huisje voor een prettige prijs.
