Enjoy your stay and rest comfortably in your own quaint fully furnished getaway walking distance from grocery stores, popular restaurants, and the DART rail. This cozy studio apartment is on the first floor of our guest house in an Austin-style area near Mockingbird and Central Expressway. Its perfect for a single person or a couple plus one child. There is a private entrance to the unit via the back where there is one very well lit, covered parking space just outside the door.
The guest studio features a comfortable queen sized bed with linens. In the living area, an Ikea Lycksele chair can be easily folded out into a twin bed for an additional guest. Extra pillows and blankets are provided upon request. The cozy living room includes a comfortable love seat, a corner desk and flat screen tv with basic cable and a DVD player.
The fully furnished kitchen features a glass top stove and full sized refrigerator. Also included is a microwave, toaster and coffee maker. We provide basic pots and pans, cooking utensils, and dishes at no charge. A rolling prep table/dining table includes prep bowls, silverware, placemats and napkins; everything you need to prepare and enjoy your meal.
Towels and basic toiletries are included in the bathroom which features a stand up marble tiled shower.
*As of November 2016, we are removing access to our washer/dryer units in the main house for short term rentals. Long-term rentals, please contact us regarding the availability of the units. Requests from long-term guests are not guaranteed and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
*Absolutely no pets please as we have 2 friendly pets in the main house. Because of this, please always close the gates behind you.
*No smoking allowed in our guest apartment or anywhere on our property.
*No firearms are allowed on our property, either in your vehicle or in the apartment.
*Our apartment and its contents are provided for use by our guests. Any unlawful or criminal activity will be reported to the authorities including unlawful use of our internet service.
*Our guests are only allowed one car on our property. No additional cars are allowed unless just stopping by for a quick visit. The parking space is down an alley and requires a sharp turn into the parking space. Therefore, no oversized vehicles including trucks with extension cabs will be permitted. There is no street parking to utilize if you have an oversized vehicle.
*Our home and property is not suitable for gatherings or parties.
*If you leave the property with our key for more than 30 minutes on the day of your check out, you will be charged a re-keying fee of $100.00.
The Guest House is a 2-story house right behind the main house. There is a permanent tenant living upstairs. You'll get all of the privacy you want, however, we welcome you to stop by and say hello! If we’re cooking out or making a huge meal, we might just invite you over! .
The guest studio is very close to the Southern Methodist University campus and the George W. Bush Presidential Library. Downtown Dallas is 8 minutes away. The Arlington entertainment area featuring the AT&T Stadium, The Ballpark in Arlington and Six Flags is 35 minutes away. Love Field is 20 minutes down Mockingbird. Mockingbird Station featuring the DART light rail is a short walk away and is also home to Dallas' Angelika Movie Theatre, Starbucks, The Gap, Victoria's Secret, Smashburger, Urban Outfitters, Cafe Express and other shopping and dining.
