Positive: Staying here was such a memorable experience. The father of the family was incredibly kind, taking me around on his scooter - not just for meals, but also to beautiful local beaches that most tourists never see. His daughter was meticulous in every detail, creating a spotless room with tasteful décor and thoughtful touches that made it feel like a 5-star hotel. If you want a truly unique stay, this is the perfect place to experience genuine Balinese culture and hospitality with a local family. I originally booked just one night, but after my first stay, I cancelled my hotel in Canggu and booked a last minute 2 night stay with D’Tulak house. I fully enjoyed my time as I am treated like part of their family. I highly recommend staying with this genuinely kind and warm family as you know that you’ll be taken care of.
Negative: I mentioned that the sheets had a strong laundry detergent fragrance, and the owner assured me that she will find another cleaner who will use a non-fragrant type. I have full confidence that the family will improve on this aspect, although maybe I’m a little sensitive to smell 😅
