A 1900's farmhouse fully updated with modern amenities. Centrally located near quaint towns, beaches, wineries and hiking. Described as a great gathering spot in any season with a kitchen and outdoor space ready to entertain family and friends.
This is a modern house in an old frame, all of the modern amenities with the character of a 100 year old farmstead. Home includes a chef's kitchen, front load washer and dryer, a sauna with a rain shower, radiant floor heat, high speed internet with wifi and three bedrooms with queen beds and private bathrooms. Very peaceful, quiet and private.
Fully equipped kitchen includes convection oven, gas cooktop with downdraft, subzero refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, two stainless steel sinks and all items to create a meal for family and friends.
Three bedrooms include queen beds and full baths, main floor bath includes a sauna shower, master bath includes a claw foot tub, third bath has a euro style shower. High thread count white cotton sheets are included in each room. White hotel towels are provided in each bathroom. Two bath robes are available in each bedroom.
Lower level entertainment room includes comfy seating, a flat screen television, and Apple TV.
Outdoor living includes vegetable gardens, outdoor kitchen, farm table dining with seating for 12, outdoor fireplace, a hammock under the large chestnut tree behind the house and a view of the islands from the crest of the hill.

Please recycle! There are recycle bins provided. Do not bring bottled water, it is not needed at the farmhouse. There are makeup remover wipes available behind the mirrors in the bathrooms. Please use these.
We always welcome well behaved pets to our Hygge Stay homes, please consider this if you or your guest(s) have any pet allergies.

PLEASE RECYCLE. Even if you're not accustomed to recycling or don't have recycling where you live, during your stay at the Farmhouse you will be expected to participate in the local recycling program. You will find two bins under the kitchen sink, the blue one, on the right, with the clear bags is for recyclable items. The bin with the white trash bags on the left is for non-recyclable items. Please feel free to ask if you have any questions as to which items are recyclable.
Hygge Stay homes always welcome well behaved pets, but please pick up after them durning your stay. No weight limits or species restrictions. The Farmhouse has elevated bowls for larger dogs to eat and drink comfortably.
There is wireless access to the Sonos speakers. No app is necessary, just simply stream from your favorite music player.
Please do not smoke in the house or leave butts in the yard.
There are two dials on the sauna heater, one for temperature and one for time. Both dials must be turned to heat the sauna, but do not turn dials all the way, it won't work if you do this. Keep in mind this is in 1 hour increments. Keep bathroom door closed as the hot steamy air can set off fire alarms.
The wood stove can be used but no more than two logs at a time. The damper goes to the right to start a fire then closed to the left once the fire is going. Please leave ashes in the stove or take them directly out to one of the fire pits.
The mirrors above the bathroom sinks all open and the downstairs left mirror has towels behind it.
Makeup remover wipes are provided in the bathrooms. Please do not use washcloths, towels or other linens to remove makeup.
Please feel free to look in cabinets and drawers if you are searching for something. There is hanging space in the closets of each room.
Please keep the windows closed if any rainy weather is expected. If you need some air movement you can open the top windows and most likely rain will not pour into the house. Days that are expected to be very warm it is best to close all windows in the morning when the house is cool, the house will retain the coolness most of the day.
The portable air conditioner is typically in the basement, it needs to be vented out a window and will keep the entire house reasonably cool if the house is closed up early in the morning.
The house has radiant heat, keep in mind it takes time to raise the temp. Please do not change the thermostats. The TV room has a small space heater that will quickly take the chill off, keep in mind it is a stone basement so it is naturally cool.
You are welcome to anything left in the house, feel free to enjoy and/or leave some for the next guests. We believe in sustainability, reducing food waste is important to us so please do not throw out unused or unopened food that may be enjoyed by the next guests.
The bathroom fans run with a remote fan in the attic so you may not hear it, press the button and the fan will run for 15 minutes.
If you feel you need them, keys to the house are in desk drawer in the library. The door has a touch code lock on it, so you likely will not need a physical key.
The patio string lights are turned on by plugging them in under the outdoor kitchen. Please hook the cord back on the counter grate to avoid it blowing around.
There is a compost collector in the island counter top (stainless bin next to sink), please empty this within the fenced area at the coop. Coffee grounds can also be put in the compost, please do not put them down any sink as this is a farm septic system.
When leaving the house please make sure to do a general cleanup, wipe down counters, make sure there are NO open food containers left out to attract mice, or insects, hang wet towels, place bags of trash and recyclables in the appropriate bins outside, etc.
