Nestled on over six wooded acres in the most prime region of Putnam County, this sprawling 21-room estate offers complete privacy and plenty of space. With a rich history dating back to the original construction when it was a featured home for the August 1928 edition of House Beautiful, the estate was designed by Ilonka Karasz, iconic artist of 200 New Yorker covers and co-founder of MOMA. It was later converted to a wellness center, and more recently, has been fully restored back to a stunning single-family residence. A grand foyer opens to the vaulted living area complete with a stunning fireplace and sliding doors that lead to the garden terrace. The dining area is complete with a stunning wet bar and easy access to the lofted and newly renovated chef's kitchen with top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances, oversized windows, and a stunning granite island. A winding hallway leads to ten fully renovated bedrooms, five of which boast en-suite baths. A mural of St. Andrew and the Seven Fishes was discovered and restored from behind a wall and is now grandly displayed on an 18' concrete slab in the primary bedroom. A lofted library complete with a fireplace is well positioned between the bedrooms. An additional second living room (or study) with Anderson Doors opens to a private terrace to the rear of the property. A winding staircase leads to a beautifully renovated studio with panoramic views of the property and another terrace. Additional "bonus" rooms include a large billiard/poker room, a fitness center, a wine cellar, and a two-car garage. Other property amenities include a 35-foot swimming pool, a goldfish pond, and a covered carport. The villa is hosted and maintained by an artist who lives and works on site.

Summary: Property was very nicely located and felt perfectly private for a group of 12 friends and our annual guys weekend away. The main outdoor area was large and accommodating for relaxing, grilling, cornhole, card games etc.
