Vallejo is where the Napa Valley begins! Located where the Napa River joins the San Francisco Bay, Vallejo is by wind speeds and the coolness of the Bay that keeps the heat of the Sacramento Valley, just over the hill, tempered. With summer temperatures mostly in the high 70s to low 80s, and a wind speed of less than 7 mph, on an average, Vallejo is enhanced by sun with the clearing morning fog of the summer season. In minutes you can drive to San Francisco, the Marin headlands, the Napa and Sonoma wine regions, or the state capitol. Sailing, golf, hiking, biking, birding on the Suisun protected marsh, skiing in the Sierra, life is enjoyable here in a small city atmosphere with close availability of major metropolitan charm.
After booking helpful information on the San Francisco Bay Area, including events in Vallejo will be sent to help you plan your stay.
The city is known for block parties, arts festivals, ethnic festivals, the Pirate Festival, the Vallejo Powwow, and the fabulous Obtainium Cup Race (google it!) with much entertainment and activity many times during the year. The is live music weekly at the Empress Theatre downtown, at Gracie's on the weekends, and opera, jazz, and live theater at the Bay Terrace Theater. The city has a vibrant art community that thrives in spite of the economy - live theatre, art shows, fabulous farmer's market on Saturdays - check out The Coal Shed on Mare Island, some splendid art going on there. There is a wonderful symphony as well as the Vallejo Chorale. All that and a range of housing from heritage Victorians and bungalows along with bay front, river front, and modern homes in the hills and on Mare Island. The views from many neighborhoods are breathtaking! Spots offer views of the Napa River, and the Carquinez Straits, which are the end of the Sacramento River. Close proximity to a wild life preserve, gentle weather and a Six Flags amusement park. The ferry ride to SF is spectacular and a great way to commute to the city.
A clean and healthy vacation rental is your right and our obligation! We pride ourselves in providing sleeping accommodations that are protected with mattress AND boxspring total encasements ("Bug Blocker" brand) for your complete peace of mind. The property is also thoroughly cleaned prior to the arrival of every guest and our goal is to provide an impeccably clean and comfortable space for your visit. We launder all the linens (whites are bleached with traditional bleach & colors bleached with color safe alternative bleach), polish all table tops, vacuum all carpeting, wash (mop with sanitizer) all the floors, sanitize all the countertops with a bleach additive cleaner, and clean the bathroom entirely including bleaching the toilet, sink, tub & floor. The cleaning fee imposed at booking covers linen service and sanitary cleaning but does not dispense with the customary expectation that before departure you remove trash, clean up after yourselves (spills), wash/put away dishes/dishware and leave the unit tidy (broom swept condition). Extra cleaning is charged at $30 per hour
Guests are asked to please be considerate and gentle with old furniture and things, stay comfortable but be conservation minded. Children are welcomed and many families have enjoyed staying at this unique property. But as one review noted by way of mentioning the number of furnishings (which we interpreted as "code" advising that the furniture interferes with allowing children that want a lot of space to proverbially "run around" inside the house) this unit is not be everyone. We have encountered guest caused damage in the past (including a broken pedestal sink) that was clearly the result of rough horseplay together with other mishaps (including by Adults).
Booking this space is an agreement that you are responsible for damage to the unit and furnishings (calculated at market rate replacement cost). Insurance is made available at booking if you desire but you accept the risk of liability should you decline it. Please also understand that this unit is made available as a vacation rental unit, not an event space. No parties are to be held on site without a separate written agreement detailing the purpose and cost. Booking constitutes agreement that ignoring this provision will result in tripling the rental rate, plus a $1,000 surcharge plus supplemental cleaning expense at $30 per hour. Any holdover of the unit (remaining in residence beyond your agreed final date & time) also constitutes agreement under your booking to payment of damages (that may be incurred for incoming guests not able to take up residence) and the tripling of the rental rate plus a $1,000 surcharge together with supplemental cleaning expense at $30 per hour.
