Former bakery in the village, this 1950 house was completely renovated in 2020. Bright, single storey, it is ideally located in the heart of the pretty village of La Brée-les-Bains (Ile d'Oléron - 17).
Once your suitcases have been put down and the bikes suspended in the room reserved for this purpose, you can do your shopping a few tens of meters on foot (Bakery, Butcher, Tobacconist, Café-Restaurant, General food), preferring why not extend by the beach and enjoy the view of the Ile de Ré, La Rochelle, Fort Boyard ... in short, that's how I'm going to get bread before my family gets up;)
The market (300m) is open almost all year round and will offer you fresh fish directly from the port of La Côtinière.
Fishing on foot, casting fishing, idleness beach, Surfing, pétanque, Volley Ball, Stroll by the sea ..... the very pretty beach of the village will satisfy you.
By bike, the port of Douhet and the one of Saint-Denis will be accessible in less than 2,5 miles each (Boat rental, Jet-ski, sailing school, sea trips .....). Always by bike, the Chassiron lighthouse is very close as is the famous beach of huts (Surf, Winfsurf, Kite). The salt marsh touches the village of La Brée-les-Bains and no less than 150 kilometers of cycle paths will allow you to cross our island to discover its treasures.
A shuttle also passes in season in the village and serves the main sites.
Regarding your accommodation, the house has a beautiful entrance which then opens onto an open living / dining room.
The living room is equipped with a large sofa , large coffee table for your moments of conviviality, large Philips Flat Screen TV.
The living room opens directly onto the outdoor terrace. Out of season, it houses a 12-seat table which moves outdoors on sunny days. Large buffet including contemporary crockery for 12 guests.
The kitchen is spacious, out of season a 6-seater "standing table" + stools complete it and the latter migrates into the living room in summer. It is equipped with a large fridge / freezer, ceramic hob, oven and microwave, an extractor hood, a dishwasher and a washing machine.
Side small household appliances, Espresso percolator, classic coffee / tea maker, toaster, raclette, grill-snack, pressure cooker, robot cutter / grater, and various dishes, containers ....
Full glass service (Champagne, Wine, Water), vacuum cleaner
3 bedrooms with double bed, one with an extra pull-out bed. Cupboards, wardrobes and access to the terrace for two of them. The bedding is new, as are the duvets and pillows.

The terrace is on two levels, a first with a garden furniture and coffee table, a second all in wood with the dining table, large 4x3 parasol and soon (in spring) a pergola with barbecue.
No garden but at the same time the beach is very close ...
I prefer to specify that although on one level, the house has steps, 1 to go down to the living room, 1 to go up to the kitchen, 2 to go to the bedrooms and 2 to go from terrace 1 to terrace 2 ..... . which can be problematic for people with reduced mobility.
We use this house throughout the year, take great care of it and expect the same. In fact, you will want to note that it is non-smoking and that (although we love them by having several of them on a personal basis) pets are not allowed there.

Finally there is no private parking but the Place de Verdun 20 meters away offers free parking just like the Town Hall Square (150m)
For your comfort and ours, we favor weekly rentals and from Sunday to Sunday in the summer period, the entries / exits causing big traffic jams on Saturdays.
