Positive: Big apartment in the outer city of Perugia located in a quiet area. About 35 mins. walk to the main square, a nice uphill walk going thru the ancient fortress' basement and with lots of escalators. The apartment is comfy, a big bedroom, a bathroom and a small living room with a useful kitchen corner. Yes the apartment is independent first floor of the landlady's house and yes the access is by an external spiral staircase. But this stairs are NOT at all as steep/narrow/slippery/scary as in previous comments. People complaining about the staircase are just lazy and writing nonsense reviews. The stairs are fine. Unless you're elderly and have old suitcases. A normal person with bags or big backpack will have no problem whatsoever. There is free parking inside the property which is a big plus. The landlady is kind, the apartment spotless. The kitchen corner is enough for preparing coffee/tea and a breakfast or quick snacks. It's not a full kitchen. Again, people complaining about the missing kitchen sink are just spoiled. The bathroom sink is only 4-5 meters away, in order to wash your mug or breakfast plate. This is a kitchen corner, which is more than enough imho, with a microwave too, and coffee/tea is provided. If you want to cook a full lunch or dinner, think again and spend your time in the many good restaurants and trattorias of Perugia. Give back to the community. Anyway, if you need snacks, there are 3 supermarkets within 10 mins. walking distance from the apartment. My stay was excellent and the price/quality rate is fair imho. I definitely recommend this apartment.
Negative: Personally i think there are only a few details that can be improved, and these are NOT the external staircase access or the kitchen sink, but rather: a) the aircon that cannot be controlled from the apartment, it is set on auto with the rest of the house aircons and cannot be managed or turned off; little bit noisy until you sleep in; b) the keyhole of the front door is poorly designed, too close to the edge of the screendoor frame itself; you have to be careful not to pinch your fingers everytime you lock the door from the outside; this is quite annoying; c) no recycling garbage bins in the kitchen corner; and a lot of single-use plastic cups, and plastic dishes; d) pillows little bit too high for me.
