Nomini Creek is a brackish waterway, meaning it is a mix of fresh and saltwater. The wide creek connects with the Potomac River, Chesapeake Bay, and eventually the Atlantic Ocean. The water depth at the end of the dock is around 6 - 8', depending on the tide and season.
A variety of fresh and saltwater marine life can be found in the creek, including blue crab, striped bass, blue catfish, white perch, yellow perch, black drum, croaker, spot, and more. Bay nettles (a type of jellyfish) may be present during the warmest months of the year.
