The cottage offers a fully stocked kitchen with all you will need to cook during your stay, three bedrooms offering stunning ocean views, a common space sleeping area on the second floor, two full bathrooms, and a beautiful wrap-around covered porch to relax and enjoy the beautiful working waterfront of Harpswell. You will love watching the fishermen come and go with their daily catch, bringing fresh lobster straight to the local restaurants, just a short walk away. Enjoy a coffee and delicious homemade scone at the Salt Cod Cafe just across the street, fresh seafood at Sundrenched just over the bridge, and Cook's Lobster & Ale House about 1 mile away. H2Outfitters is conveniently located just before the bridge, where you can rent kayaks and explore the coast for the day or go on a guided tour.

Summary: In many ways, this house is typical of what you get when you rent on Orr’s and Bailey Islands—old house with some quirky or random decorating touches. What’s different is that not every house has a dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer. And you’re simply not going to find a view like the one you get from the Rose Cottage. Breakfast on the porch was such a joy every day. If they ever cut the nightly rate to about 50% of what it is right now, we’ll come back year after year. But for just the two of us, it needed a special occasion (a “big” wedding anniversary) and our entire tax refund for the four nights we spent there. So, instead of becoming an annual tradition, the Rose Cottage will be a special memory.
