This apartment is sunny with large rooms, high ceilings and tall window-doors providing views of the town and countryside. It occupies the middle floor of a 1600’s villa that was converted into three elegant apartments. It has recently been remodeled and has a new kitchen and a new bathrooms.
Air conditioning was installed in 2019.
Two large bedrooms open onto a long balcony with view. The spacious living room, the study, and the dining room all open onto a terrace with a view. Downstairs is a garden with a view.
This second home is well set up. It includes a hydro massage tub, a well equipped kitchen, eating in the dining room or on the terrace, a home theater setup and satellite hookup, fast internet connectivity, and a Yamaha electronic piano. You will also find books, games, a small library of DVD’s, and a variety of sheet music.
Narni is delightful with charming streets and attractive buildings. It is one of the larger and livelier towns in Umbria with activities like a medieval festival and music festivals. It is probably the inspiration for the ‘Chronicles of Narnia’ by C.S. Lewis. Many of his gentlemen ancestors would have seen it on a tour of Italy and traveling artists found the ruins of the huge Roman bridge one of the most evocative scenes in Italy. It is well situated for excursions to Rome, all Umbrian towns such as Orvieto, Spoleto, and Assisi, and sights of upper Lazio, such as Bolsena lake, Caprarola, Tuscania, and Tarquinia. There is much beautiful countryside in Umbria and attractions like the lakes Trasimeno and Pediluco, and the falls at Marmora. Umbria is known for its food and four of Narni’s restaurants are both excellent and reasonable. For home meals the town has an excellent butcher, baker, fresh pasta shop, mini markets and gourmet shops. Supermarkets are a few minutes’ drive.
