Sunshine House 2.0 has a colorful and fun tropical theme throughout this beautiful waterfront, family and pet-friendly respite. The property is situated on two acres with 240 feet of beautiful waterfront on the private (warm) side of Lake Anna, providing plenty of SPACE for you and your family and friends to enjoy the fresh air and beautiful scenery! Launch your boat from the private community boat launch with our key card entry, then tie up to the private dock located on the property.
Enjoy waking up to a dramatic sunrise to start your day. Each bedroom has an exit directly onto the expansive deck so you can enjoy the herons, eagles, geese. You can boat or fish all day on the water or do nothing but relax and (in summer) soak up some rays. Once the sun goes down enjoy the peaceful sounds of nature as they lull you to sleep or build a campfire in the firepit area located down by the water and roast marshmallows for s'mores.
This side of the lake is much sought after for it's warm water temperature between April and November. The water is clear with a sandy bottom great for swimming. Enjoy excellent skiing and tubing. During peak summer holidays this side of the lake is less congested with calmer waters than the public (or "cold") side. The water never freezes so fishing is possible year round. Bring your boat, jetskis, fishing poles, and suntan lotion to this one of a kind getaway! If you plan to bring a pet with you, please include that information in your inquiry.
The private side of Lake Anna encompasses 3 large 'cooling lakes' connected by channels. Our home is in the first cooling lake (the warmest). The water on the private side ranges from 10-14 degrees warmer than the public side of Lake Anna. (Please note, the water at the dock may be more like a big hot tub during the heat of July/Aug.) We recommend vacationers bring a boat or jet skis to explore the various parts of the private side which become cooler as the current moves through the channels.
Cleaning procedures between rentals: every precaution possible is taken to insure that the house is properly cleaned between rentals. Surfaces are wiped down using disinfectants and/or Clorox. Linens (sheets, towels, bath rugs) are provided by a professional linen service and supplied in plastic bags on each bed for use by vacationers. All soft surfaces (bedspreads, pillows, blankets, etc.) are sanitized with disinfectant spray.
