Southold, North Fork: Among the oldest surviving homes in Southold, The North Fork Resident's Inn: Charles Horton House is located in a historic maritime village, settled in 1640. The house stands in a prominent position just steps from Town Harbor and the original 'Counting House' were taxes where levied and received for all incoming ships.... The house has been used as an Inn & Boarding House by the descendants of the first owner. It is symbolic of the North Fork community.
Unit B(#1): Charles Horton is located on the 2nd floor - as such this rental may not be ideal for people with mobility issues... Unit B (#1) is named for a prominent previous owner: Charles Horton, who 'added' the Victorian, 2-story front house facing Youngs Avenue. The apartment is on 3 floors: large entry foyer at street level, majority of living space on 2nd, and a loft/attic on 3rd.
The apartment is single and separate from the other 2 apartments and each has its own 'private' outdoor space - plus - shared common garden space. The house is only steps from the LIRR station, shopping, and the Hampton Jitney... This unit enjoys a broad front porch overlooking the charming houses of lower Youngs Avenue - including the Capt. Youngs house of the mid 17th C. and is convenient to all North Fork amenities: wineries, beaches, shopping, restaurants.
Within walking distance of all - no car is needed - however, if you need concierage services groceries, pet sitter - just let me know - i'm a local real estate agent and i can assist you with almost every need! Ideally, the guest/tenant should sign lease with Charles Horton House LLC (to fully enjoy all of the benefits of a Southold Town stay) - inquire for copy of lease before booking. If bringing a pet there is an additional departure cleaning fee of $50 and if staying in excess of two weeks, there is a bi-weekly cleaning fee of $100 additional. Preference is given to MONTHLY bookings (discounted rate)
