Summary:
This is an updated one bedroom 2nd floor apartment in Jacksonville, NC minutes from everything. Basic amenities provided: Off-street parking, Smart-TV, WIFI, work-desk, kitchen essentials including coffee/tea, bottled water, instant oatmeal, kettle, stove, refrigerator, and microwave. The separate bedroom has a queen size bed. The bathroom has a tub/shower. Only one pet is allowed in this property (cat or dog only, less than 30 pounds) or indoor smoking.
The Space:
Smart TV and WIFI are included. It is a second story unit, so there are stairs to climb. Sorry, this home does not have an elevator or ramp.
If you are staying in one of our Pet Friendly homes and will be bringing pets, a $100 NON REFUNDABLE Deposit and extra cleaning fee will be required.
We will send you a request through the booking App asking for an additional $100 to cover both of these expenses. You must accept the "request" in order to receive the access code to the home.
Guest Access:
Full, private access to this apartment. This is a 2nd floor unit and steps are the only way to access it. There is an electronic door lock and you will be provided an access code on the day you are scheduled to arrive.
Check out is no later than 11am so that we have time to get the space cleaned for the next guests. Unless prior arrangements are made, if a guest has not checked out by 11am, we will have to charge $35 for each hour, or portion of an hour, that the guest is late checking out. If we have to cancel another guest's reservation because you have not checked out with enough time for us to prepare the space, then you will be responsible for the cost of the lost booking. Don't worry, on a case by case basis, we can extend the check-out time, but you need to coordinate it with us in advance! Just check with us and we will do everything we can to ensure you have a great stay!

The Neighborhood:
South Shore Drive is just off of Marine Blvd and is about 5 minutes from all of the stores located on Western Blvd.
Lets talk about food. I was born and raised near Jacksonville, so I am a little biased in my recommendations. Additionally, you need to take a little drive to get to some of these places.
1. You can find all of the normal franchise restaurants (Chipolte, Outback, Chick Fil A, Cracker Barrel, etc), on Western Blvd, about 10 minutes away.
2. For Japanese Steak House, I prefer Hakata on Onslow Drive. About 5 minutes away.
3. For "fast-food" type BBQ, try Smithfields on Gum Branch, 5 minutes away. The BBQ is good. The slaw is great (very sweet), the tea (I only talk about sweet tea) is good, but the hush-puppies are so-so.
4. For great fried seafood, drive 30 or 40 minutes to Sneads Ferry, NC and check out the Riverview Cafe / Restaurant. There will be a wait for a table. Been around over 60 years.
5. Ducks on Gum Branch is good casual dining, 5 minutes away.
6. Anytime Billiards has great burgers, lots of TV screens for sports, and lots of full-size pool tables. It is about 10 or 15 minutes away, near the New River Air Station Main Gate.
7. The Mai Tai is popular for their buffet, though I haven't been there in years. 5 minutes away on Henderson Drive.
8. If you have a little bit of time on your hands, just a little over an hour drive away is an upscale dining restaurant called the Country Squire. Been around along time. It is located in Kenansville, NC.
9. Surf City is only 45 minutes away and you can find great non-fried seafood at Beauchaines 211. Definitely get one of their desserts! The views overlook the Intra-coastal waterway.
10. While in Surf City, you can get a steak or grilled seafood at Daddy Macs, overlooking the ocean.
11. Get fresh steamed seafood at the Shuckin-Shack, on Gum Branch road, about 10 minutes away.
Finally, regarding alcohol: NC laws do not allow the sale of alcohol until noon on Sundays, either in a restaurant or at the store. They recently passed a law in some cities allowing alcohol sales at Brunch on Sundays. Also, to buy liquor for home use, you have to go to a state-owned "ABC" store. Don't worry, ABC stores are all over the place. You can buy beer and wine just about anywhere.

Other Things to Note:
We think you will have just about everything you need when you stay with us. We provide coffee-pods, tea, creamer, etc. The kitchen has plenty of dishes and utensils, but if you require anything special you will need to bring it with you. With your groceries, you should be able to cook a full meal with everything provided in the kitchen and the full size refrigerator. There is a Keurig machine, and traditional coffee pods, but bring your specialty pods for hot beverages if you want something different. If staying more than a couple of days, please remember to take trash outside to the trash cans, which are located very close to the stairs, otherwise, we will take care of it after you check out. We will also leave a few extra towels and toiletries for longer stays. We do provide basic travel toiletries, such as shampoo, conditioner, soap, body wash, and lotion.
