Positive: We are regular visitors to Cara and Smokvica so the location of this property with its views over the vineyards are something special for us. This property has truly magic views. As an architectural historian, I have always wanted to stay in a stone villa in this part of the island. The pool is small but sufficient for 2 people and the outside eating with strong fan is a lovely settings to enjoy the vine harvesting views sipping Posip. The sea in the distance around Zavalatika and Uvala Zitna are inviting.
Negative: The stone villa was totally locked up although we had booked it and remained locked throughout our stay! Apparently, this was owing to a drainage issue which we were not forewarned about nor compensated for. We were assured this would be resolved/ remedied during our stay, but this did not happen. We had many calls to the owner including a pool tablet renewal but only brash irritated responses when we enquired on tge status of tge repair....In fact, we only learned from the owner's father as we departed, the drainage issue was over 10 days old, so no doubt this impacted guests before and after us which is false advertising. Instead, were forced to stay in the tiny adjacent building which no amount of fans were able to keep cool, though we fully accept the solar power of the property means air con us not an option. The bedroom is dominated by a modest double bed which meant I had to climb over my husband in the night. The shower room is the size of a cupboard and leaked. 'Old stone villa' might as well have been 'no stone villa'! The ping pong balls were broken and no badminton kit to play over the net. The deposit should ensure all facilities advertised remain so for subsequent quests or what is the point?
