Escape to the serenity of the Blue Ridge Mountains and experience the magic of Virginia country living at our rustic cozy chalet. Shenandoah is a multisport heaven with hiking, cycling, rock climbing, fly fishing, road biking, water tubing, canoeing, horse back riding, and skiing. Whether you are looking for a romantic getaway, a special place to celebrate, or a weekend retreat, you've come to the right place. Come explore our private 3 acres, the ever-changing mountain views from the chalet's deck, and evenings by our new firepit.
The Shenandoah Chalet is always professionally cleaned, maintained and ready for your arrival. Central heat, central air-conditioning, and both an indoor and outdoor fireplace for your comfort. The chalet can accommodate up to 4 adults and 2 children. Two cots supplied for the kids.
As you enter the chalet, the full kitchen is equipped so you can prepare your meals in style, such as a Samsung convection oven and stove, Cuisinart microwave, coffee-maker, new Keurig, Tools-of-the-Trade cookware, flatware, Henchel chef knives, Pottery Barn dishes, Cuisinart toaster-oven, Bosch dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer and more. Paper towels and trash bags provided. BYO Coffe and/or Kcups.
Enter into the great room which has a contemporary open floor plan combining the dining area and living room with a soaring cathedral ceiling with large sunny windows looking out to the spectacular Shenandoah National Park mountains. The great room features a swiss-style fireplace, for your entertainment a 55" plasma HDTV with Cable, DVD player, new recliner couch and robotic massage chair that will soothe your muscle soreness and stress away. The dining area is set with an antique country table with seating for four.
Both bedrooms feature firm queen beds with clean fresh linens, and for your health the pillows and mattresses are protected with allergen-free covers. The upstairs loft bedroom (open to the great room) has a picturesque view of the mountains. Both the loft bedroom and the main level bedroom have a new air purifiers. Plenty of blankets and pillows provided.
First floor full bathroom with a tub and shower. We provide fresh clean towels and a hair-dryer.

We have a strict no pets and no smoking policy in the chalet.
WINTER ROADS DISCLAIMER
Please keep an eye on the weather forecast prior to your arrival. The cabin is remote and the driveway requires AWD or FWD. The roads leading up to the cabin are gravel/ dirt roads and can be icy due to winter conditions. We do keep our driveway plowed, however, we do not have control over the county roads that lead up to our cabin. It is highly recommended, if not necessary, to have 4WD or AWD in order to navigate the roads especially if there was a recent snow.
To ensure you enjoy a carefree stay, we are available 7 days a week to answer any questions you may have or resolve any issues that may arise. We live in Vienna, VA (about 2 hours from Elkton). We have both a local caretaker and a handyman 10 minutes from the chalet. You provide your own food and we'll take care of everything else.
The chalet is 100 miles from Washington DC, and 100 miles from Richmond. We are 1 mile from hiking in Shenandoah National Park (Powell Mountain trailhead), 15 minutes to the nearest town, Elkton, 25 minutes to Massanutten Ski Resort and waterpark and 40 minutes to James Madison University.
Experience the amazing beauty of the surrounding countryside by visiting Skyline Drive, Shenandoah National Park and Luray Caverns, only minutes away. Visit award-winning wineries and explore the Blue Ridge by horseback. Take time to visit historic Luray.
