Summary: First of all, the host, Elle, is a gem, an absolute delight. Communicated well & timely--that was great. There are wonderful restaurants within yards of the room--a huge bonus. The room I had was a bit too spartan for my needs this trip: no desk, no little table to serve as a desk, only one useable plug in the room. Kitchen facilities were very basic, but everything worked! I'd say, if you are OK with a European-type hostel, you'll be fine here. And you might get fresh baked lemon-apple bread from your host if you're lucky!
