Positive: This place is a birding lodge, and it has bird feeders, hummingbird gardens, and other attractions for birders. It is located at "kilomentro 18," an area where other birding spots can be visited. The hosts, Carlos and Clara, are very attentive and kind people. Breakfasts were very good & the local guide (Jonathan Buitrago) was always available & helpful with location & identification of birds seen in the area. If you need assistance with birding trips & contacts of birding places nearby (like Doña Doña or La Floridita), Clara will do whatever is needed to ensure that you can go to these places that require reservations in advance. In general, we had a great time at this lodge.
Negative: We don't have "complaints" with this place. The only issue (if you are driving to this place) is that you may need an SUV (4 X 4) since these are unpaved dirt roads in the birding spots around "kilometro 18".
Summary: Excellent place for pro-active birders & bird photographers! You will have a lot of fun there.
