SMUGGLERS HIDEAWAY is a secluded 3 bedroom island home located on North Captiva Island. Nestled among palm trees, the home's tropical location and private pool and hot tub area makes for a one-of-a-kind island vacation. With sleeping up to 7 people in 3 bedrooms, the home can accommodate small families or even a few couples. The home is tastefully decorated, has coastal contemporary furnishings as well as a modern kitchen. The home also includes one 4 passenger golf cart. Smugglers Hideaway is located in close proximity to the Island Club at North Captiva where guests have access to the two swimming pools, hot tub, tennis courts (currently closed), bicycles, kayaks and paddle boards. Private boat captains and fishing charters are also available. Beach access is less then 5 minutes away by golf cart.
NORTH CAPTIVA ISLAND is a private island accessible only by boat or private aircraft. The island is known for its uncrowded, natural white sand beaches with incredible shelling and wildlife viewing. Guests never tire of dolphin watching, in addition to viewing the manatees that regularly hang out in various locations around the island. Golpher tortoises freely roam the island and it's not unusual to see them crossing the road and holding up golf cart traffic for photos. Two thirds of North Captiva is a state wildlife preserve, while one-third is lightly developed with vacation homes.
RESORT AMENITIES! In addition to the Island Club at North Captiva membership, Smugglers Hideaway has its own heated swimming pool, hot tub and pool-side games. Play ping pong and corn-hole while hanging out and grilling near the pool. If that's not enough, at Boats & Fun, in very close proximity to the house, guests can rent a boat, paddle boards, fishing gear and an additional golf cart.
Currently, there are 2 restaurants to dine and 1 bar. Mangos is located within the Island Club at North Captiva complex, and serves food and liquor. Mangos also services the Club's 2 pools and hot tub (very casual). OTW (Over The Water), located within the Safety Harbor Club, is a BYOB restaurant open for lunch and dinner. Reservations for dinner recommended. Our 3rd restaurant/bar, Mainstay/Barnacles (very popular island favorite), is scheduled to reopen in late June '24. The Boathouse, our fine dining restaurant remains closed due to Hurricane Ian and subsequent fire damage. Also available are private grocery service shoppers, personal chef's, and prepared meal deliveries.
AN ADVENTURE AWAITS! Your on-island property manager will assist with the logistics of traveling to an island and help make the experience as stress-free as possible. Your property manager will assist selecting ferry boat options to North Captiva and will greet you upon arrival and transport you, your luggage and groceries to the home (unless you requested the kitchen be pre-stocked--highly recommended!). Your property manager will also give you a private tour of the island and help familiarize you with the amenities and intricacies in the house, and will always be a phone call or text away during your stay.
