Welcome to my beautiful home in Southtown! You'll fall in love with the boutique shops, locally owned restaurants, and artsy style of our neighborhood. Cool down with a chilled paleta (popsicle) from the street vendor, grab a beer at Freetail Brewing, and then relax on the backyard deck while the bamboo sways in the wind. The house is a quick 7 minute stroll away from our very own Riverwalk, a 5 minute Uber ride from downtown, and right smack in the middle of so many unique things to do.
The Space:
A relaxing vacation home located on a charming street with colorful houses in the heart of Southtown. If your dates are available, book it now because it will fill up fast.
The home is a fully remodeled and extended early 1900's home with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. There is artwork from around the world on the walls from places I have visited or lived in and my love for movies inspired the living room theme. Stretch out on the king sized beds or use the large modern kitchen to share a meal together with your friends and family. There really is so much to do around here! Walk in the mornings to the local coffee joint, grab a beer a few blocks away at Freetail Brewing, or check out some of the little shops and bistro restaurants dotted along this historic and beautiful neighborhood. Top it all off with a stroll along the Riverwalk to watch the sun set, and then head back to the house to watch a movie.
Guest Access:
You will have full access to the entire house 24/7! No need to worry about keys, the front door has an electric lock and a safety camera that faces outdoors only.
Interaction with Guests:
You won't see me nor my helpers during your stay which allows you more privacy and convenience. However, I am here anytime you need to reach out. If you need anything or have questions, just send me a message and I’ll be quick to respond.
The Neighborhood:
Our neighborhood skirts King William and is located in the Lavaca Historic District. Us locals fondly refer to it as "Southtown" and it is the most charming neighborhood in the city. You can be at the Riverwalk after a short stroll and you can take a motorized scooter (or walk!) to many highly rated and tasty restaurants and bars off S Alamo, S St. Mary's, and S Presa streets. Freetail Brewing Company is located three blocks to the south, and the Blue Star Arts Complex is a beautiful 15 minute nature walk on the paved trails along the river. Welcome to your home away from home!
Getting Around:
An Uber or Lyft ride anywhere in Southtown will cost you about $6 bucks and a little more for downtown. Never used Uber? Use my Uber referral code for $2 off of your first 3 rides: “1sa6v”. I really love taking the motorized scooters (you can download the app) around the area for about $1. Also, there is a bus stop half a block away, and quick access to IH37.
