3 Bedroom House in Buena Vista

We built this Santa Fe style home in 2010 with a design aimed at blending into the surrounding environment, and with energy efficiency in mind. It is a two-level 2200 square foot passive solar home with an open floor plan. The lower level opens into a great room, large kitchen, master suite and second bedroom. The upper level has the entertainment room, plus bed and bath in a loft-type setting. It opens onto a large deck which features a view up and down the Arkansas River Valley and the 14,000+ foot mountains of the Collegiate Peaks Range. Picture windows abound throughout the home. There is 180' of private Arkansas River frontage behind the house, neighbors are few and far between, and though only 3/4 mile from the activities of Main St. the setting in the Pinon/Juniper forest is tranquil and secluded. It is about 1/2 mile upriver of the Buena Vista Whitewater park. A hot tub set above the river in the forest makes for a splendid 'retreat within a retreat'!
