Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: The location is excellent - close to both trains, buses and trams. The cooking facilities were useful as we are vegan and needed to self cater for our stay. The flat is excellent value for money, even with the rather dubious addition of a cleaning fee and this will be a boon for a budget traveller.
Negative: There are a lot of stairs leading up to the property and the communal area is pretty grotty. The very bright security light from the communal area stayed on all night (we messaged the owner to ask how to switch it off but got no response) and this flooded the room with light making it harder to fall asleep. There was a weird and unpleasant smell from what we think were the drains which meant that the bathroom door had to be kept closed at all times. One or two things were missing from the kitchen like tea towels to dry up with which meant that in the end we bought our own. It wasn't the cleanest place I've stayed in either with lots of gritty bits left on the floor. If these elements were attended to ( and they can be easily remedied), this would have been an outstanding stay.
