Summary:
Coopers Rock State Park is the perfect destination for swimming, birding, camping, hiking or just plain relaxing and enjoying the unsurpassed natural beauty.
Cast a line at Messinger Lake and see what you can catch or hike and bike on nearly 50 miles of trails through the park. The Henry Clay Iron Furnace Trail, takes you on a trip back in time to find a huge stone structure used for producing iron in the 1800s, located in a grassy glade in an otherwise undisturbed forest. More amazing views and discoveries are found along various trails in the forest.
Hunters are welcome here! Properly licensed individuals are welcome to hunt in-season (in specified areas of Coopers Rock State Forest). No hunting zones surround all forest recreational facilities.
This campsite is equipped with a pre-set sturdy canvas tent on its own wooden deck platform. The tent is furnished with a queen-size memory foam mattress and side tables. A picnic table, fire pit with a grill, a solar shower, and portable camp loo are also provided, and campers are able to use the park's restroom facilities as well. There is an additional pop-up tent provided for extra guests, but you will have to bring your own air mattresses/sleeping pads for this tent.
The Space:
Just under 1000 feet from the Clay Furnace Trailhead Parking Lot, this furnished campsite boasts of beautiful views of the hardwood forests of Appalachia. Along and near several hiking and mountain biking trails, this hike-in, secluded spot is the perfect getaway for nature and adventure lovers alike.
Guest Access:
Please note that the campsite is hike-in only and about 5-10 minutes from the parking area.
Other Things to Note:
Be sure to bring your own food, firewood and bedding. There is no electricity available at your Tentrr site. Anything you pack in, you must pack out. All trash MUST be deposited in a designated receptacle at the end of your stay. If you do not follow this rule, you will be charged a cleaning fee. Please beware that there are rattlesnakes, bears and other forest dwellers in this area. They are important members of the natural community, so we ask that you give them distance and respect for the safety of all. Have a wonderful stay!

Summary: The location in the state park was beautiful with plenty of hiking nearby. The customer service of tentrr was also great! I will note a few things: i never received an email prior to check in with the actual location, the address listed takes you outside the state forest. Site B is also located on a steep slope so sitting around the fire was difficult. Once i was emailed the check in location and instructions it stated a lock box code was needed however, the tent unzipped and was not secured w a lock key needed. Lastly, the restrooms are a drive away so be prepared to use the portable potty they provide. Overall though, great customer service when i did need help locating the site and i didnt spend much time at the site because we were enjoying the park, hiking.
