Bali is a coastal village on the north coast of Crete, about 30 km east of Rethymnon and 45 km from Heraklion (airport). It is built on a raised small peninsula so overlooks the bay and the sea. Summary: The villa was a decent size and in a good location to explore the island. I would highly recommend visitors rent a car as this villa is a little away from the main town. It was a nice quiet location. Towels and bedding were provided and changed a few times during our stay. If I'm being honest, the villa would benefit from a few upgrades - the beds and sofas weren't very comfortable (we could feel springs) and there were no door mats - as it rained a few times, we had nowhere to take off wet/muddy shoes coming into the villa so needed to mop regularly. There wasn't a food parcel left as mentioned in the description, but luckily we had stopped off at a shop after our late arrival so we had some snacks to eat, and went to a supermarket the next day. Maybe the villa has been empty for a while but there was a faint smell of damp which could also be smelled on the bedding. Not huge issues and we still really enjoyed our stay overall, but a few improvements would really increase the comfort level. The host kept in touch and was helpful, we did see him several times as he cleaned the pool etc. He met us after 12.30am for a late check in and showed us around. Many thanks!
