Nestled between the woods is this remodeled waterfront cabin. This location makes you feel like you are all alone but are just minutes to fun, entertainment and local attractions, hiking and wine trails!
This Cozy cabin has 2 bedrooms, one with two full sized beds and one with a king sized bed. There is also one full bathroom with new tiled stand up shower, single vanity and toilet. Nice open floor plan with living room/dining/kitchen and plenty of windows to enjoy the lake view. The living room has a new queen sofa bed couch and new full sofa bed loveseat for additional sleeping if needed. Eat in dining area with table and 2 benches . Fully equipped kitchen with appliances that include refrigerator, stove, micro-hood, dishwasher, toaster, crockpot, blender, Keurig coffee pot along with pots\pans and utensils.
Outside you will find this cabin sits on a large water front lot with boat dock. As you walk outside you will find a full length upper deck with gas grill(propane not included), patio table and chairs and led lights. The lake front has recently has been cleared for a multi-level viewings of the lake. Follow the steps down to the first level and find large fire pit and seating. Then follow down closer to the next level to enjoy the view sitting at the bar area that overlooks the point!
Also included is access to a gated boat ramp and small beach/picnic area in Eagle Point Bay. There also is 4 local marinas on the lake with some that offer food, beer/liquor/wine, live entertainment, boat/jet ski rentals and a variety of activities to keep the entire family entertained. Other local attractions are Shawnee National Forest, Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge, Shawnee Hills Wine trail (11 vineyards), Walkers Bluff vineyard and event center, Southern Illinois University, John A Logan College. In addition to the Lake of Egypt this property is also near Crab Orchard, Little Grassy and Devils Kitchen Lakes. Local state parks are Ferne Clyffe, Giant City and Garden of the Gods. Casinos in Metropolis and Cape Girardeau are approximately 1 hour away as is Paducah, KY.

Summary: Check in was chaotic so it started off on the wrong foot. We arrived a little early but then found out the cleaning crew would be an hour late. Check in stated 3pm. We arrived at 2pm. When I asked if we could check in early the response was it wouldn’t be ready until 4. No big deal to us as we just wasted some time in town don’t our shopping. Watch out - the cleaning crew brought a friend that’s not even part of the actual crew. She was just there to help. She ended up taking a phone we had left there so we had to get her information and drive 30 minutes to meet her. Why she took the phone we will never understand. The house itself is definitely not 5 star. Tons of potential though. The bathroom needs some ventilation. I can imagine there’s black mold behind the walls with all the water it retains. The beds are not comfortable by any means. The pots and pans in the kitchen are very outdated and falling apart. The stairs are INCREDIBLY sketchy. Do not bring small children or older people here. The steps on the stairs shake and the lighting on the top half is non existent unless you wanna turn on the back spot lights and light the entire yard up. The bar area is really neat but there was trash left down there and the furniture down there had spider webs ALL over. We ended up cleaning down there for awhile before spending any quality time there. The dock is nice and the ladder to get in the lake is great. Amazing communication with Meghan. Tons of potential. Needs lots of TLC!
