Summary: The Carriage House, near Carbondale, is a spacious apartment over three garage bays at the back of a lovely home. It is accessed by an indoor, carpeted staircase. Parking is right outside the door. There are nice views from the den and bedroom windows. The kitchen and bath have an updated look and are very functional. The kitchen is small:one cook at a time. The bathroom shower gets an A+. Air conditioning keeps the apartment comfortable in the daytime. At night there is a wonderful breeze though the screened windows. The internet and TV work well. The home is in a quiet, gated community with a golf course (and, of course, the Roaring Fork River). It is a pleasant and safe place to walk and bike. We ate at two of the owner's recommended restaurants, and I second her recommendations. We used the Carriage House as a peaceful retreat after a vigorous family reunion. It was perfect for our purpose. We plan to return. M.T.S.
