Positive: At first sight from the street there were some doubts, the apartment being in an old building with a rather scruffy grey door leading to a stone-flagged corridor. However, once in the apartment it was modern, clean and comfortable. Being at the back of the building, it was quiet and looked onto a small, well tended garden. The bed was comfortable and the lounge and kitchen well equipped for a short stay. The fish and chip company on the railway bridge was excellent.
Negative: The heater controls in the lounge were broken, apparently having had something jabbed into them and really need to be replaced. The other heaters in the apartment worked properly. The apartment was described as having "ample, free on street parking". Although there were certainly a lot of spaces, the area is one of flats, with a school nearby and the station just 5 minutes walk away, which meant that parking could better be described as "competitive". After driving around for 15 minutes I eventually parked two streets away, although I did manage to bring the car a little nearer later in the evening. However, over the 3 days I was there I was never able to park on the actual street where the apartment was. In my opinion, it would be better suited to people travelling by train.
