Positive: It is a nice and relatively spacious room with a seperate batthoorm / WC. It certainly has its old-fashioned charm and allows to experience an authentic Dutch vibe. There are many small details (e.g. electric candles) that make the stay feel very cosy and nice. All was clean. The bed mattress was on the soft side, but I found both bed and pillows to be comfortable. We got a chance to park our car for free of charge right at the front of the house which was very convenient. Otherwise you can park your car on the nearby (50m) Houweg street. Owner is easily reachable via whatsapp.
Negative: It would be nice to have the information about the breakfast arrangements directly under "General info" when you click on the room options in Booking.com. Somehow we totally missed to read that (i) breakfast had to be discussed in advance with the owner and (ii) it costs EUR 12.50 per person. Maybe it is a good idea for the owner to proactively ask their guests if the latter wish breakfast as part of the pre-arrival communication? I know that ultimately food information can be found - but when you are in a vacation mode, often times you just want to relax and not to search every detail for every place you stay in. We arrived quite late the night before (we took a key from the locker vs meeting the owner, as she was not around) and expected a breakfast in the morning (I guess this was just a [wrong] assumption based on our past B&B experiences). But there was none. It turned out later (after I proactively asked the owner via whatsapp if there will be some breakfast), that we should have told her in advance. So that morning I went to a local grocery store & bakery to get some food. If there are other guests upstairs or the owners behind the wall (they seem to live in the same house), you can hear the floors creecking under their steps. It is an old house after all.
