2 Bedroom House in Shrewsbury

*Please note this house is only available for adults and children over 12.
About this space
A pretty, Victorian terrace house which we have recently renovated to a high standard, giving you a stylish and modern experience. Ideally located in a quiet residential street and only a short riverside stroll to the beautiful town of Shrewsbury, where you will find a wide range of bars, restaurants, and many independent boutiques.
Our home is ideal for couples, families with children of 12 years or older, friends, or people looking for a home from home stay while visiting or working locally.
The space
We have recently renovated the house, giving it a light and airy open plan kitchen/dining area, which has become the hub of the home with its large, reclaimed wooden dining table, and a smaller, cozy lounge, giving a more intimate, warm feeling.
From the kitchen, there are patio doors leading out into the garden, which is enclosed with a large patio area and picnic table. At the side of the garden, you will find apple trees.
There is also a laundry room with downstairs toilet leading off the kitchen.
On the first floor is a double bedroom with a king-size bed, plenty of storage space and an en-suite shower room. There is also a family bathroom with a bath and shower.
The second floor leads to the second bedroom with a king-size bed and views over the rooftops.
We have spent many hours transforming this house into a warm, cosy home and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Guest access
There is free on-street parking outside the house and the local Morrisons and friendly local pub are just a one minute walk away. Turning left out of the house, the beautiful weir of the River Severn is just a 3 minute walk away. From here, you can walk into the town centre or round to the delightful Quarry park, which was created in 1719.
Other things to note
Our property is professionally cleaned and is set up to be remote access, ensuring that no direct contact with anyone is needed. The linen and towels are removed from the property after each stay and replaced with freshly laundered supplies. We also provide single-use and individual items such as shampoo and shower gel.
Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate children under the age of 12 or pets. Please respect our lovely neighbors and keep the TV/Music, voices, and general noise low after 9 pm. We would also be grateful if guests could please remove their shoes before walking on the carpet, using the shoe racks provided in the hallway, and use the placemats and coasters provided when using the dining room table.
Our TV is not currently connected but has an HDMI port and you are welcome to bring your own Firestick
Supermarkets
We have a Tesco, Aldi, and Lidle about 10 minutes in the car and a Morrisons about 5 minutes drive. In the opposite direction, again a 10-minute drive is Sainsbury's and a large M&S Food Hall. Sainsbury's, Morrisons and Tesco will all do home delivery. A 1 minute walk from the house is a Morrison's daily which is open till 10 pm and a 5 minute walk into the town centre is a smaller Tesco and M&S food hall.
Local Restaurants
The Telegraph pub is on the same street, just a 1 minute walk away, with regular live music. The town centre is a very pleasant 10 minute walk away, along the river, with many pubs, bars and restaurants to choose from but here are some we like. For more fine dining we would recommend The Walrus or Lion and Pheasant which are located in town or Hencote has a beautiful view over the town. Italian - La Dolce Vita or Osteria Da Paolo. For a good curry The Curry House or Avatar. Pizza - Dough & Oil. The Istanbul Restaurant has a wide selection of charcoal grills. Momo's Noodle Bar is nice. The Olive tree or Casa Naranjo for Tapas. House of the Rising Sun and The Armoury is always firm favourites, along with Cote. And not forgetting The Boat House, which has a great outdoor space and overlooks the river. Number Four does a great brunch. We also like Hickory's and have a Nando's and a Harvester near the cinema There are also many cafes, in the town, at the back of the Square we like the more traditional Gallery tea room. Or Ginger & Co, where you can watch the world go by. Don’t forget to check out the local Market Hall, where you can eat, drink and shop for local produce.
Local Attractions
The beautiful weir is just a 3 minute walk away and you can often see salmon jumping upstream. The weir cafe has great food. From the weir, you can walk along the river to the town centre in just 7 minutes, or head into the stunning Quarry park, which is a beautiful 29-acre parkland providing the perfect place to relax, enjoy walks, picnic, or play a game of ball with the family. At the heart of the Quarry lies the Dingle, a floral masterpiece cultivated by world-renowned gardener Percy Thrower, who served as Parks Superintendent for 28 years. It's a delightful sunken garden landscaped with alpine borders, shrubbery, and charming water features that is worth a wander around. We also hold many festivals in the Quarry, check to see what is on. www.visitshropshire.co.uk www.originalshrewsbury.co.uk. A 10-walk from the house will take you into the historic town of Shrewsbury. A walk past the train station, castle, and old library building is worth seeing if you like historic buildings. Shrewsbury has a whooping 800 listed building from the 16th and 17th centuries. Unfortunately in the 1960s, some historic buildings were demolished to make way for a very different architectural style and I am sure you will spot these buildings. Just remember when you are walking around to look up. Shrewsbury Prison is worth a visit and has featured on many TV series. We have a multi-plex cinema if you fancy checking out the latest blockbuster and The Theater Severn www.theatresevern.co.uk. Best to get out there and explore.
Trains
Shrewsbury train station is an 8 minute walk away.
