Positive: Colin Naish breakfast lunch and dinner was excellent and the restaurant is chic and stylish. The Retreat location is wonderful for Forest walks and coast access, we often use it. The larger double rooms in the main building are humorously elegant and and furnished with panache. The shower rooms are modern, towels are clean and plentiful and ironing facilities available.
Negative: The small single rooms in the annex were adequate but dull, basic single bed with chair and table. One window latch is loose, important because the road traffic noise is overwhelming. Double glazing minimises the noise but requires the fan supplied to stay cool and the ear plugs supplied by the bed!
Summary: Convenient location, good value with separate sleeping, eating and treatments
