To the West is the pretty little harbour town of Emsworth with its local shops, cafés and pubs leading down to the quayside and sailing club. On the way to Emsworth you’ll pass through the village of Southbourne with its popular farm shop, perfect for buying provisions and sampling some locally sourced ingredients.
The Roman Villa in Fishbourne is just a short drive away and, beyond that the Cathedral City of Chichester where you’ll find of course the Festival Theatre, cafés, restaurants and plenty of shopping. For cultural explorers there is also the famous cathedral, Pallant House Art Gallery and The Novium museum built over the ruins of a Roman bathhouse.
You’ll find lovely beaches and seaside attractions in Wittering and Bracklesham, a scenic drive away, and on Hayling Island a short distance to the West. Further afield are historic Portsmouth and Southsea with all their local attractions and, to the East is the vibrant seaside town of Brighton.
Goodwood Estate, Racecourse and Motor Circuit are also within easy reach by car too. Goodwood aerodrome is home to the vintage Spitfires that you may see flying over the harbour in the summer and their Aerodrome Café is a great spot to watch comings and goings on the airstrip.
