Located 3 miles North of Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire, the village of Mickleton lies in a fine setting immediately beneath the Cotswold edge overlooked by Meon Hill. It has several attractive stone houses and cottages in addition to those of thatch and half-timber.
The little Victorian Memorial Fountain close by the Three Ways Hotel (home of the Pudding Club) is an interesting feature by William Burges, the architect of Cardiff Castle and Castle Coch, two excellent examples of the High Victorian Gothic architecture.
The church has a fine 14th-century tower and spire, and a most unusual 17th-century two-storeyed porch. Inside will be found a 12th-century crucifix, or rood over the north aisle chapel alter. A nice circular walk leads up the hill from the church to Kiftsgate, Hidcote Manor Garden, and then up onto Ilmington Downs, before going down again through Hidcote Boyce to return to Mickleton. The is also a pleasant walk leading southwards, over the hill to Chipping Campden, passing close to the southern entrance to Campden Railway Tunnel.

Summary: We spent three days and two nights in the north Cotswolds walking the Cotswold Way and otherwise visiting National Trust properties such as Snowshill and Hidcote. This cottage was a good base. The approach is easy and the parking space is right outside the front patio and gate. The front door is easily accessed using the key safe. Security of the front door is good. Once inside it is simple to dial the required temperature on the Ring display; the temperature was then more than adequate. Both the bed and bedroom are comfortable and there are plenty of electric sockets for your needs plus the provided hair dryer, iron and board, lights, etc. Even with a window open it was very quiet at night which allowed us a good sleep. Also downstairs is the bathroom with a shower that has simple to follow handles. Upstairs is the lounge and kitchen with a TV, DVD player, dining table, stools, and all the necessary washing and cooking equipment you need. We would happily book to stay here another time. If you need provisions then the local mini-supermarket is only a four minute walk in a pretty and interesting village.
