Positive: The house is beautiful and the location is very good - just a 10 minute walk along a path to the river and all the shops. There was adequate cooking equipment to make meals The outdoor space was nice for sitting/eating The lounge area was comfortable for relaxing at end of the evening The upstairs bathroom was nice
Negative: The beds are very firm, not super comfortable The directions getting to the cottage were unclear (there is a sign that says Marshall’s Cottage at end of drive but no mention of that in the directions as this cottage is Bow Cottage and the only sign is once you’re already down the driveway) There was no welcome kit (for almost £1600 for two nights, was disappointing) and the instant coffee that was there had water in it rendering it unusable There were no cleaning supplies/trash bags and trash can was broken The laminated instructions gave the incorrect WiFi info - accidentally found the correct one when I looked in the mirror in the hallway The hosts were minimally responsive and not accommodating when asked for possible early check in/recommendations for safe places to eat for a child with severe food allergies The downstairs shower is very small and right inside the downstairs bedroom without a privacy wall/door Overall, the value of this cottage isn’t great compared to what we’ve received from other places in terms of overall hospitality/amenities
